    Arrow vctf-RPG 2018 refresh

    In this thread all the changes I did since before this day.


    /wannado
    - figure out how to change halloween stuff
    - only enable the best maps (no dull rounds)
    - add more levels
    - edit maps to suit player base
    - advertise server in januari (see below)
    - turn off surprise monster spawn which happens every few maps

    Ideas to create more traffic
    - un-ban all regions
    - remove ban on torrented serials
    - post invite on ut2004 facebook page
    - send pm to everybody on DVG
    - change server-name to something with refresh 2018
    - (done) remove stats tracking so the server is visible to you also if you haven't logged in in the settings
    - (done) un-ban all players from the ini
    - (done) master reset

    - logged in in putty
    - logged in in filezilla
    - logged in in webadmin
    - figure out putty commands
    - 8 bots, easier level

    tl;dr
    most noticeable:
    - no damage bonus or reduction abilities, instead you can buy more health
    - no monster abilities
    - way more player-levels; it now doesn't take ages to level up
    - master reset (the original player data is backupped)
    - the server is less spammy and bots are easier
    - feather is wicked
    - many new maps!

    I modified and added 15 maps. Some bigger, some smaller. Let me know if something needs changing.

    - changed maps to fit 4 on 4. And by "fit" I mean "keep it packed" but still Vctf
    - bot-pathed
    - removed some

    Added which maps?
    - every map ending with ----][DVG]

    Good idea! Perhaps you could (temporary) remove all other maps from the INI so they get used and noticed.

    Good idea, I enabled only the maps I have edited or reviewed. I will slowly add more. :'D

    nostalgia is kicking in hard - how awesome would it be if we could just magically text all the regular players from 10 years ago

    We did that two times so far (by e-mailing all forum members).

    First time it got us a (temporary) crowd, second time, not so much.

    I miss those 32 player RPG VCTF days as well, but there is a slight chance those days won't be coming back.

    I am sorry, I am not an avid reader of mails to my spambox. I remember that I monitored the VCTF server a while with no success and no players, is there a difference now?
